The drug contains the drug diclofenac sodium, which belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is used in the treatment of pain and inflammation. It removes inflammatory symptoms such as pain and swelling and also reduces fever. It does not affect the causes of inflammation.

The drug is used in the treatment of the following conditions:

• sprains and joint pain, muscle strains and aches, or other post-traumatic pain conditions,
• back pain,
• painful menstruation,
• toothache,
• headache.

Dosage and dosage schedules

Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over: 1 tablet at the onset of symptoms, followed by an additional tablet at a minimum interval of 4-6 hours as needed. No more than 3 tablets should be taken in a 24-hour period.

Patients over 70 years of age: only half the usual adult dose is recommended at the start of treatment. If this dose is clinically ineffective and is well tolerated it can be increased during the course of treatment.

Without consulting a doctor, the medicine is intended for short-term use, i.e. up to 5 days to relieve pain and up to 3 days to reduce fever. Adverse effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.

Method of use

Tablets are taken whole, unchewed with food or immediately after a meal. It is recommended to take the medicine with a glass of water and remain upright (sitting or standing) for 15-30 minutes after application to prevent the medicine from getting stuck in the oesophagus, where it could cause irritation of the mucous membrane.

Notice

The drug is contraindicated in the last trimester of pregnancy. Unless clearly necessary, the drug should not be given during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy (the dose should be as low as possible and the duration of treatment as short as possible).
In the period of breastfeeding, the drug should not be administered.
The drug is not recommended for children under 15 years of age.
Caution is advised when administering the drug to elderly patients in poor health or of low body weight.
Caution is advised with impaired renal and/or hepatic function. The drug is contraindicated in case of severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Patients with significant risk factors for cardiovascular events (e.g. hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes mellitus, smoking) may take the drug only after careful consideration (the duration of treatment should be as short as possible and the dose as low as possible).
COX inhibitors may cause a decrease in female fertility by acting on ovulation (reversible, resolves after discontinuation of treatment).
Very rarely, photosensitivity (<1/10,000) may occur during treatment.
Especially at higher doses and in more sensitive individuals, the drug may adversely affect the ability to perform activities requiring increased concentration (driving, working at heights, operating machinery).
It is not advisable to drink alcoholic beverages during treatment.
The drug contains lactose.
