The drug in the form of a hot drink contains a combination of two drugs:
- paracetamol, which counteracts pain and fever,
- phenylephrine hydrochloride, which relaxes the airways.
It is used to relieve flu and cold symptoms, including fever, sinusitis, headache, sore throat, and joint and muscle pain. It also helps with a runny nose, relieves stuffy nose and sinuses and thus makes breathing easier.
The drug should only be taken if flu and cold symptoms are accompanied by a stuffy nose or sinuses. More at adc.sk
Dosage and dosage schedules
Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents from 12 years of age:
Administer 1 sachet as needed 1-4 times daily. The interval between doses should not be less than 4 hours. The highest single dose is 1 bag. The maximum daily dose is 4 bags.
Duration of treatment:
The drug is intended only for short-term treatment. If there is no improvement in symptoms (fever, pain) within 3 days, or if, on the contrary, the symptoms worsen, new symptoms or unusual reactions occur, it is necessary to consult a doctor for further treatment. This medicine should not be taken without consulting a doctor for more than 7 days.
Patients with renal insufficiency:
It is recommended to extend the interval between doses. For moderate renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance 10-50 ml/min) the minimum interval between two doses should be 6 hours, for severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance < 10 ml/min) the minimum interval between two doses should be 8 hours.
Patients with hepatic insufficiency:
In these patients, it is advisable not to administer the maximum doses and to observe an interval of at least 6 hours between doses.
Method of use
Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in a glass of hot (but not boiling) water. The hot drink is drunk. The minimum intervals between doses must be observed (listed under Dosage and dosage schedules). The relationship to food is not mentioned.
Notice
During pregnancy, the drug should not be administered.
In breastfeeding women, the drug is not recommended (if it is necessary for a breastfeeding woman to take the drug, she should take it only after consulting a doctor and only for a short period of time).
For children and adolescents under 12 years of age, the drug is not indicated.
The drug should not be taken by patients with high blood pressure or with heart or blood vessel disease.
Alcoholic beverages must not be consumed during treatment.
Do not take other medicines for flu and colds or medicines to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa (decongestants) and especially other medicines containing paracetamol at the same time as this medicine.
The drug has a negligible effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery (however, dizziness may occur in susceptible individuals).
The drug contains sucrose (1.81 g in 1 sachet).
The drug contains 121.34 mg of sodium in 1 sachet, which must be taken into account in patients on a low-sodium diet.
