The drug contains the drug ibuprofen. It is an anti-inflammatory and pain relieving drug (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID) with fever reducing (antipyretic) properties.
The drug is used for symptomatic treatment:
- mild to moderate pain
- fevers
Dosage and dosage schedules
Adults and children aged 12 years and over (body weight > 40 kg): single dose is ½-1 tablet (200-400 mg ibuprofen). The maximum daily dose is 3 tablets (1 200 mg of ibuprofen).
Children aged 6-12 years: dosage depends on body weight or age, in principle a single dose of 7-10 mg/kg body weight up to a maximum total daily dose of 30 mg/kg body weight.
20-29 kg (6-9 years): single dose is ½ tablet (200 mg ibuprofen); total daily dose is 1 ½ tablets (600 mg ibuprofen)
30-39 kg (10-12 years): single dose is ½ tablet (200 mg ibuprofen); total daily dose is 2 tablets (800 mg ibuprofen)
The interval between doses should not be less than 6 hours.
The drug is intended for short-term use. If the discomfort persists for more than 3 days in children and adolescents, and for more than 3 days in the treatment of fever and 4 days in the treatment of pain in adults, it is necessary to see a doctor.
Method of use
The tablets are taken at regular intervals, swallowed whole with plenty of liquid during or after meals. The dividing groove allows the tablet to be divided into two equal doses or serves to facilitate administration, but the tablets must not be bitten or crushed.
Notice
The drug is contraindicated in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. During the 1st and 2nd trimesters, the drug should not be given unless clearly necessary.
There is no need to discontinue breastfeeding with short-term treatment.
COX inhibitors may cause a decrease in female fertility by acting on ovulation (reversible, resolves after discontinuation of treatment).
The drug is contraindicated in children under 20 kg body weight (younger than 6 years).
Elderly patients need to be carefully monitored due to the side effect profile.
The drug is contraindicated in patients with severe renal and/or hepatic impairment.
The drug is contraindicated in patients with severe heart failure (NYHA class IV).
Caution is required when taking the drug immediately after major surgical procedures.
In case of chickenpox (varicella), it is advisable to discontinue taking the medicine.
When taking the drug in higher doses, side effects that affect the central nervous system (fatigue, dizziness) and may reduce the ability to drive and operate machinery may occur.
Do not drink alcohol.
