The medicine contains vitamin C (vitamin C is ascorbic acid) in each tablet. The human body cannot make vitamin C on its own, so it must be taken in the diet or supplied in the form of vitamin preparations.

Vitamins are complex substances essential for many functions in the body. Vitamin C is one of the water-soluble vitamins. Its role in the body is multifaceted: it enables the activity of various enzymes in the body, is part of the antioxidant system. It is important for the growth and maintenance of healthy bones, teeth, gums, ligaments and blood vessels, for the production of certain substances involved in the transmission of nerve impulses between nerve cells, for the production of adrenal hormones, for the absorption of iron from food, and is also necessary for a normal immune response to infection and for wound healing.

Mild vitamin C deficiency manifests itself in weakness, general fatigue and pain, swollen gums and nosebleeds; more severe deficiency causes scurvy and anaemia.

The drug is used by adults and children for the prevention or treatment of conditions of vitamin C deficiency in the body, especially in periods of increased demands (in childhood during growth, pregnancy, breastfeeding, during strenuous work, sports, infectious diseases, in recovery after infectious diseases, after severe injuries, burns, major surgery, in unilateral nutrition, in the elderly, in smokers, etc.).

In combination with other antioxidants, it is administered to limit the harmful effects of free radicals (antioxidant action).

Method of use

Dosage and dosage schedules

Adults and children over 6 years of age:
To cover the increased need for ascorbic acid in the body for a temporary period of time 200-500 mg of vitamin C per day (up to 2 tablets), in its deficiency 500-1000 mg of vitamin C per day (2-4 tablets).

Children aged 3-6 years:
In the short term, 100-200 mg of vitamin C per day can be given. (It is necessary to choose another drug with a lower strength.)

Children under 3 years of age - administered only on the advice of a physician and in doses prescribed by him. The length of treatment will also be determined by the doctor.

For good absorption in the body, it is preferable to take the total daily dose divided into several sub-doses rather than all at once.

The period of regular administration, especially if it exceeds 1 week, should be decided by the doctor.

Method of use

The tablets are swallowed whole, preferably before meals, they need to be sufficiently washed down.
The tablets have a dividing groove. The dividing groove only helps to break up the tablet to make it easier to swallow and does not serve to divide it into equal doses.

Notice

The drug can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Vitamin C taken in higher doses may affect the accuracy of the results of some laboratory tests, especially the urine glucose test and the fecal occult bleeding test.
Store at temperatures up to 25 °C in the original packaging to protect from light and moisture.
