Indications: Nurofen for Children Active belongs to a group among medicines referred to as analgesics, antipyretics, non-steroidal antirheumatic drugs (for the control of inflammation, pain and fever). It contains the drug ibuprofen, which relieves pain, has anti-inflammatory effects and reduces fever. Ibuprofen prevents the production of certain substances (prostaglandins) that are involved in the body's production of pain, fever and inflammation.It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches, spinal pain and post-operative pain. Further, this medicine is taken for pain and fever associated with colds and flu, pain with otitis media, sore throat, muscle aches and pain with soft tissue injuries.

Contraindications: do not give Nurofen for Children Active to a child:

• when hypersensitive (allergic) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients in Nurofen for Children Active;
• having or having had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding in the digestive tract;
• when hypersensitive (allergic) to other painkillers or to acetylsalicylic acid, which may manifest as bronchial asthma, rhinitis or hives;
• when your child has serious liver, kidney or heart disease.
• The drug must not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy.
• The drug must not be given to children under 6 years of age or weighing less than 20 kg, children with phenylketonuria

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: If the medicine should be taken by a pregnant woman, it must not be taken during the last 3 months of pregnancy. During the first 6 months of pregnancy or while breastfeeding, the drug may be taken only on the advice of a doctor.

Dosage: Children aged 6 to 9 years (approximately 20 to 28 kg): 1 to 2 tablets as needed every 6 to 8 hours, up to a maximum of 6 tablets in a 24-hour cycle

Children aged 10 to 12 years (approximately 29 to 40 kg): 1 to 3 tablets as needed every 6 to 8 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in a 24-hour cycle

The tablet is placed on the tongue, allowed to dissolve freely and then swallowed; the medicine does not need to be washed down with water. Do not bite the tablets. For patients with increased gastric sensitivity, it is recommended to take Nurofen for Children Active with meals.
