When to take ERDOMED 225 mg?

ERDOMED 225 mg is a mucolytic, i.e. a medicine that reduces the viscosity of mucus (thins mucus) and makes it easier to cough up.

It is used to treat acute upper and lower respiratory tract infections associated with increased mucus production, such as:

  • rhinitis (rhinitis),
  • sinusitis (sinusitis),
  • inflammation of the larynx (laryngitis) and pharynx (pharyngitis),
  • bronchitis (bronchitis).
  • It is also used on the advice of a doctor to treat certain chronic respiratory diseases, e.g. frequently recurring bronchitis (chronic bronchitis), to worsen the symptoms of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), in smokers to prevent chronic bronchitis and to prevent frequently recurring infections (e.g. during the winter).

How to take ERDOMED 225 mg?

→Dosing←

  • Adults and children over 12 years take 1 sachet 2-3 times a day.
  • The effect of the treatment will be felt after 3 days, the average length of treatment to achieve the full effect is 7 days. If you do not feel better or feel worse within 7 days, contact your doctor.
In chronic diseases, the drug can be used under the supervision of a doctor even for a longer period of time.
  • Do not take the medicine shortly before bedtime.
  • Do not take the medicine at the same time as antitussives (cough suppressants) because of the risk of large amounts of mucus accumulating in the airways.

Sufficient fluid intake is required during treatment.

→Method of use←

Dissolve the contents of the sachet in approximately 120 ml (half the volume of a normal glass) of lukewarm water or tea, stir and drink immediately. The drug can be taken independently of food.

Read the patient package leaflet carefully before taking the medicine.

The drug is used to reduce the mucous-like, possibly purulent exudate of the respiratory tract mucosa and to facilitate expectoration when:

  • acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchodilation and bronchial asthma with increased mucus secretion
  • acute and chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis and pharyngitis.

The drug is also used to prevent the aggravation of bronchial bronchial disease, especially in:

  • disorders of the respiratory system accompanied by emphysema (excessive air in the lungs) and increased secretion
  • chronic bronchitis
  • emphysema of the lungs (excessive air content in the lungs).

The drug may also be used to prevent complications after surgery, such as pneumonia or non-ventilation of part of the lung. More at adc.sk
