Product name: Solmucol 90 ml plv sir (drug.PE) 1x90 ml
The drug contains acetylcysteine. It is used in all diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, accompanied by intense formation of thick mucus:
- in acute and chronic bronchitis (bronchitis),
- for adjunctive treatment of laryngitis (inflammation of the larynx),
- tracheitis (inflammation of the trachea),
- sinusitis (sinusitis),
- otitis media (otitis media),
- mucoviscidosis (cystic fibrosis),
- bronchial asthma (bronchial asthma),
- bronchiolitis (bronchiolitis),
- emphysema (crushing of the lungs).
Dosage and dosage schedules
In acute diseases:
Adults and children from 6 years: 3 times a day 10 ml of syrup
Children from 2 to 6 years: 3 times a day 5 ml of syrup
Children up to 2 years: 3 times a day 2.5 ml of syrup
In the long-term treatment of chronic bronchitis and bronchiectasis: 10 ml of syrup twice a day. Therapy should last 3-6 months.
In mucoviscidosis:
Adults and children from 6 years: 3 times a day 10 ml of syrup
Children from 2 to 6 years: 3 times a day 5 ml of syrup
Children up to 2 years: 3 times a day 2.5 ml of syrup
Method of use
The syrup is taken after meals and washed down with water. For taking the medicine, the enclosed measuring cup is used.
Syrup preparation:
1. Remove the annular cap.
2. Screw the stopper downwards. This gets the powder from the container, connected to the stopper, into the liquid.
3. shake the solution briefly until the powder is completely dissolved.
Notice
The drug can be taken during pregnancy only on the advice of a doctor.
The drug is not recommended to be taken while breastfeeding.
Bronchospasm may occur in patients with bronchial asthma.
The concomitant administration of antitussives such as codeine or dextromethorphan is not recommended without consulting a physician.
Coadministration of acetylcysteine with some antibiotics (some cephalosporins, penicillins, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines (except doxycycline)) may reduce the effectiveness of antibiotics.
The drug contains maltitol.
After reconstitution of the syrup, the drug should be stored at a temperature of up to 25°C for 14 days.
