The drug is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that is used to treat gynecological inflammations of the vagina caused by fungal microorganisms, fungi and yeasts (primarily of the genus Candida). In addition, it counteracts vaginal infections caused by gram-positive microbes (mainly streptococci, staphylococci and Gardnerella vaginalis) and gram-negative microbes (Bacteroides).
The drug is used for the following symptoms of candidiasis:

  • vaginal discharge conditioned by infection (whitish, lumpy, odourless),
  • inflammation of the vagina caused by pathogenic fungi or yeasts (manifested by itching, burning, redness, swelling and soreness of the vagina).

On the advice of a doctor, the drug is also used to sanitize the birth canal in the last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy.

Dosage and dosage schedules

Adults and children from 12 years of age:
1 tablet every evening for 6 consecutive days. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated.

If symptoms persist for more than 7 days or if symptoms return within 2 months, a doctor should be consulted.

Method of use

The vaginal tablet should be inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina in the evening before going to bed, either using an applicator or with a finger after washing your hands. The best position for inserting the tablet is in the supine position with the limbs slightly elevated. In the event that the vaginal tablets do not dissolve completely during the night, the use of a vaginal cream should be considered. Eye contact is to be avoided. Do not swallow the tablets.

Insertion with an applicator: when inserting the tablet with an applicator, the plunger of the applicator is first pulled out to the stop and the vaginal tablet is placed in the applicator. The tablet applicator is then inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina. The plunger is pushed to the stop, thus the tablet is placed in the vagina. The applicator is pulled out.

Notice

As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid taking the drug in the 1st trimester of pregnancy. During pregnancy, treatment can be carried out, but the tablet must be introduced without the use of an applicator.
Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment.
It is advisable to avoid treatment during menstruation and to stop treatment before starting it.
If the labia pubis and adjacent areas are co-infected, topical treatment with a dermal cream (combination therapy) should also be performed.
In case of vaginal infection, it is recommended to abstain from sexual intercourse.
The sexual partner should also undergo topical treatment, especially if symptoms such as itching and inflammation occur.
The drug may temporarily and only during treatment reduce the effectiveness and safety of some latex-based contraceptive methods, such as the condom or pessary.
Do not use tampons, spermicides or other vaginal medications or perform vaginal lavage while using the medicine.
Store at temperatures up to 25 °C.
