Description: Iberogast
The herbal medicine is intended for the treatment of gastro-intestinal ailments, which are mainly manifested by discomforts such as stomach and abdominal pain, heartburn, a feeling of fullness, gastro-intestinal cramps and nausea. The drug regulates the tension and momentum of the intestines. It relieves uncomfortable and painful contractions of the musculature of the stomach and intestines. It is also intended to improve function and mobility in conditions such as irritable stomach syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome, and to support the treatment of discomfort in inflammation of the lining of the stomach (gastritis).
Method of use
Dosage and dosage schedules
Adults and adolescents from 12 years: 20 drops 3 times a day.
Children aged 3 to 12 years: current available data on safety and efficacy are insufficient to establish dosage.
In principle, there are no restrictions on the duration of use. The duration of use is governed by the type, severity and course of the disease. However, if the patient does not feel better or feels worse within 7 days, it is recommended to contact a doctor.
Method of use
The drug is taken shortly before or with food in a small amount of water. Before use, the medicine should be shaken.
Notice
As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid taking the drug during pregnancy.
The decision whether to stop breastfeeding or whether to discontinue treatment should be made after weighing up the benefits of breastfeeding for the baby and the benefits of treatment for the woman.
The drug must not be taken by children under 3 years of age, in children aged 3-6 years the drug is not recommended.
It is advisable to stop treatment immediately and contact your doctor if you show signs or symptoms of liver damage (e.g. jaundice, dark urine or discoloured stools (pale stools).
The drug is contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any plant found in the drug or to any plant belonging to the same family.
The drug contains 31% ethanol (alcohol) by volume, i.e. up to 240 mg per dose, which is harmful for those suffering from alcoholism. It must also be considered in breastfeeding and pregnant women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
After the first opening, the shelf life is 2 months.
The drug should be stored at a temperature of up to 25°C. Do not store in the refrigerator or freezer.
Turbidity and possible clots in the solution does not affect the effect of the drug.
