The drug contains a combination of two active substances. Paracetamol provides pain relief and lowers body temperature. Caffeine relieves fatigue, mildly promotes respiration and circulation in febrile illnesses. The drug is suitable for the relief of headaches, migraine, back pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscular pains and pain during menstruation. The medicine also brings relief from unpleasant flu symptoms, colds and sore throats and reduces fever. More at adc.sk
Dosage and dosage schedules
Children aged 12-15 years:
Take 1 effervescent tablet dissolved in a glass of water up to 3 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 3 tablets over 24 hours (i.e. 1.5 g paracetamol and 0.195 g caffeine). The maximum single dose is 1 effervescent tablet.
Adults (including the elderly):
Take 1-2 effervescent tablets (depending on body weight) dissolved in a glass of water as needed up to 4 times daily, with at least 4 hours between doses. The maximum daily dose is 8 tablets over 24 hours (i.e. 4 g paracetamol and 0.52 g caffeine). The maximum single dose is 2 tablets.
Patients with renal impairment:
In renal insufficiency, the dosage must be adjusted. At a glomerular filtration rate of 50-10 ml/min, a maximum of 500 mg of paracetamol can be administered every 6 hours, and at less than 10 ml/min a maximum of every 8 hours.
Method of use
The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and the contents are drunk. The minimum intervals between doses must be observed (listed under Dosage and dosage schedules).
Notice
In the first trimester of pregnancy, the drug is not advisable to administer. In the further course of pregnancy, the administration of the drug must be considered by a doctor.
Paracetamol is excreted in breast milk, but in amounts that are not clinically significant. With short-term treatment and simultaneous careful monitoring of the infant, it is not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.
In children under 12 years, the drug is contraindicated.
Alcoholic beverages must not be drunk during treatment.
Consuming excessive amounts of coffee or tea along with taking the medicine may cause a feeling of tension and irritability.
During treatment, other drugs containing paracetamol should not be taken concomitantly.
